The Sóller tunnel will be closed to traffic from 19 October to 19 November 2026, on Monday to Thursday nights, for maintenance work and the replacement of signage panels. The restrictions will apply between 22:00 and 6:00, while the tunnel will remain open at weekends.

Sóller tunnel

The Consell de Mallorca is investing €700,000 in these works, which aim to improve safety in the tunnel. During the closures, drivers will have to use the Coll de Sóller road (Ma-11A) as an alternative route.

Sóller tunnel closure times and authorised vehicles

The traffic restrictions will apply as follows:

  • Dates: from 19 October to 19 November 2026.
  • Days: Monday to Thursday nights.
  • Times: from 22:00 to 6:00.
  • Weekends: the tunnel will remain open to traffic.
  • Alternative route: Coll de Sóller road (Ma-11A).

During the works, ambulances, fire engines, police vehicles and other emergency vehicles, as well as TIB buses, will be allowed through. All other vehicles must use the Coll de Sóller road during the closure hours.

What work will be carried out in the Sóller tunnel?

The main work involves replacing the existing signage panels inside the tunnel with new ones.

The drainage systems in both the Sóller tunnel and the sa Mola tunnel will also be cleaned to prevent flooding ahead of the heavy rainfall season. In addition, annual inspections of the safety and ventilation systems will be carried out.

Overnight closures of the Son Vic tunnel

Separately, the Son Vic tunnel will be closed overnight from 18 to 19 October and from 19 to 20 October for cleaning and maintenance of its safety systems.

The Consell de Mallorca expects the first closure to be shorter, while the second will last throughout the night. During these restrictions, traffic will be diverted through Peguera.

On those same nights, there will also be temporary traffic interruptions, without full closures, in other tunnels on the Ma-1 (Andratx motorway) and the Ma-20 (Via de Cintura ring road).
