Literanit 2022 comes to Mallorca to promote reading among citizens on 24 September. This initiative takes place in unusual places and at unusual times for readers. From restaurants and public spaces to museums and other locations included in the programme. According to Literanit 2022 representatives, the common thread of this fourth edition is oral literature, specifically fables and tales from the Catalan-speaking world.
Under the slogan “Popular Imaginaries: Myths and Legends”, Literanit 2022 stresses the importance of orality and the popular origin of the stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. “The value of literature for people is unquestionable, which is why the Consell is once again supporting Literanit, which brings the festival of literature to different municipalities on Mallorca,” said the councillor for the Presidency, Javier de Juan.
Of the thirty events on the Literanit 2022 programme, half will take place in Mallorca. Book presentations, talks, storytelling, readings, concerts and other activities. In addition to Palma, Literanit will also be held in Alaró, Santa Maria del Camí, Montuïri, Santa Margalida, Manacor, Bunyola, Llubí and Valldemossa. And outside Mallorca also in Barcelona, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.
