The Patrona de Pollença 2026 (Pollença’s patron saint festivities) will once again turn the municipality into one of Mallorca’s major summer celebrations. From 24 July to 2 August, Pollença will enjoy ten days filled with tradition, concerts, open-air dances, popular activities and events for all ages.

The highlight will come on 2 August, the feast day of the Mare de Déu dels Àngels (Our Lady of the Angels), with the hugely popular Simulacre de Moros i Cristians (Mock Battle of Moors and Christians), the historical re-enactment that recreates the defence of the town against the attack by the corsair Dragut in 1550 and stands as the festival’s most representative event.

Patrona de Pollença 2026 will fill the streets with celebration

Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a programme that combines tradition, culture and leisure. The festivities include the opening speech, canonades (ceremonial cannon salutes), performances by the cossiers (traditional Mallorcan folk dancers), concerts, revetles (open-air evening festivities), children’s activities, sporting events, lectures, community gatherings and religious ceremonies in honour of Pollença’s patron saint.

Music will once again play a leading role, with outdoor performances and several revetles, while events such as the Nit de l’Alborada (Night of the Dawn), the Marcha Fresca i Fresketa and the Dragut Fest will help create the festive atmosphere that defines these celebrations.

The Simulacre de Moros i Cristians, the great day of the Patrona

2 August brings together the most eagerly awaited events of the Patrona de Pollença 2026. From early morning, the town comes alive with the Alborada (dawn celebration) and religious ceremonies in honour of the Mare de Déu dels Àngels.

In the afternoon comes the most anticipated moment with the Simulacre de Moros i Cristians, a spectacular historical re-enactment in which hundreds of participants portray the victory of the pollencins (people of Pollença), led by Joan Mas, over the troops of the corsair Dragut. Declared a Festival of Tourist Interest, this re-enactment attracts thousands of spectators to the streets of the town every year.
