Mallorca PhotoFest 2026

The Mallorca PhotoFest 2026 will turn the island into a major stage for contemporary photography from 25 April to 30 August, with an ambitious programme including exhibitions, talks, workshops and activities taking place across the island.

Promoted by Art Palma Contemporani, the new international image festival has been launched as a biennial event with the ambition of placing Mallorca on the global map of visual culture, involving both public institutions and the private sector.

Mallorca PhotoFest: an island-wide photography festival

The Mallorca PhotoFest will take place simultaneously in Palma and in numerous municipalities across the island, bringing together a network of 31 cultural and artistic venues and a total of 55 scheduled events.

The festival will reach Palma, Inca, Alaró, Marratxí, Felanitx, Santanyí, Calvià, Campos and Manacor, reinforcing its decentralised character and its aim of bringing photography to the whole island.

Among the participating venues are leading cultural centres and museums, together with a broad representation of the gallery scene. These include ABA ART, BARÓ, CCA Andratx, LA BIBI + REUS, KEWENIG, Florit / Florit, 6a Taller i Galeria, Galería Maior, Balazsi Gallery and Galería Xavier Fiol, which will take part not only through exhibitions, but also through talks, meetings and presentations centred on photography and image-making.

Joining this network for the first time is A66 Gallery, based in Santanyí, further expanding the range of venues linked to the festival.

An international project promoting visual culture

The Mallorca PhotoFest 2026 has been created with the aim of strengthening the island’s role as an international platform for contemporary creation, placing the image at the centre of cultural debate.

The festival builds on the legacy of Palma Photo, held between 2001 and 2015, and updates it with a critical, participatory and educational approach adapted to the current challenges of visual culture.

In addition to exhibitions, the programme will include sections such as:

  • PHOTOEXHIBITIONS
  • PHOTOTALKS
  • PHOTOBOOK CLUB
  • PHOTOWALKS
  • PHOTOSTREET PRESS
  • CALVIÀ PHOTOFILM

A new cultural event in Mallorca

The first edition of the Mallorca PhotoFest will coincide with the 30th anniversary of Nit de l’Art and with the return of Art Cologne Palma, making 2026 a key year for contemporary art in Mallorca.

Beyond its artistic dimension, the Mallorca PhotoFest is conceived as a strategic project that combines culture, education and public participation, while promoting a model of sustainable cultural tourism spread over time and across the island.
