After its success in Madrid and Murcia, “Set” arrives in Mallorca with an artistic proposal that encourages reflection. The exhibition brings together 21 large-format works (120 x 180 cm) painted in oil on wood, along with 7 works on paper and 46 charcoal drawings. All of them in black and white. The collection forms seven triptychs created from sketches, notes, and reflections that Cano has developed over decades. To mark his 75th birthday, the artist has turned this material into a unified project that summarises his career.
Pedro Cano explores themes such as migration, injustice, suffering, and hope. His aim is to engage directly with the public and inspire empathy towards the human realities he portrays. The exhibition is curated by Raquel Vázquez-Dodero.
“This exhibition is much more than painting; it is a silent cry that reminds us of the fragility of life and the need for solidarity. It invites us to reflect as a society and forces us to look at existing injustices, but also at the power of mutual support,” highlights the vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councillor for Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca.
