Prices for tourist rentals in Mallorca show a significant drop in autumn, following the high summer season. According to the holiday rental portal Holidu, the average nightly cost falls from €293 in August to €192 in October, representing a decrease of 34%.

The report indicates that the east of Mallorca remains the most affordable area on the island, with an average price of €167 per night, roughly a third less than in summer. Meanwhile, the north sees the largest discounts, with a reduction of 43%, bringing the average nightly price to €184 per night.

Palma and Alcúdia, favourite autumn destinations

International search data confirms that Palma is the most popular destination in Mallorca during October. The average price in the Balearic capital is €250 per night, 22% less than in summer.

Alcúdia ranks as the second most popular destination and stands out with a significant discount: a 44% saving compared with the summer months, with an average price of €177 per night. Following Alcúdia are Pollença (€192, −44%) and Santanyí (€185, −33%).

Also noteworthy is Sóller, which sees a more moderate reduction of 15%, but remains in high demand during autumn thanks to its location in the Serra de Tramuntana, ideal for hiking, with an average price of €234 per night.

Strategies of hosts during the low season

A survey by Holidu among hosts in the Balearics reveals that:

  • 43% rent out their properties all year round.

  • 71% adjust prices or offer discounts for longer stays during the low season.

  • 18% expand the availability of their calendars.

  • 8% apply more flexible cancellation policies.

  • Only 5% target their offer to digital nomads.
