Mallorca is consolidating as one of the preferred destinations for American tourists. According to the report 2025 Portrait of American & Canadian International Travelers, produced by the consultancy MMGY Global for Turespaña, 60% of surveyed international travellers from the United States stated that they plan to visit the island in the next three years.

The study, based on more than 2,000 surveys of travellers from the U.S. and Canada, confirms that Spain as a whole is highly attractive: seven out of ten American tourists (70%) intend to travel to the country in the coming years, with particular interest among millennials (81%) and high-income travellers (76%).
Within the national ranking, Palma de Mallorca stands out alongside Madrid (80%), Barcelona (79%), and Seville (66%). The island excels not only for its sun and beach offerings but also for its cuisine, cultural wealth, and natural landscapes, factors highlighted in the report as key to international travellers’ choice of destination.
Responsible tourism, an added value for American tourists
The study also reveals that 84% of Americans are willing to pay more for sustainable tourism options, a key factor for this tourist profile. This trend aligns with the results of a 2024 survey conducted by the Mallorca Tourism Foundation (FMT) on the East Coast of the United States, where summer direct flights to the island are concentrated.
According to this report, 72% of travellers from this region consider Mallorca to be at the forefront of responsible tourism. Furthermore:
