The Consell de Mallorca, through its Department of Tourism and in collaboration with Totem Branding, has launched an innovative project to analyze how residents and people connected to the island perceive the balance between tourism and local life. With interviews of nearly 100 people from various sectors, the study aims to understand residents’ concerns, improve the coexistence with the tourism industry, and maintain the island’s essence.

Led by Tourism Councillor Marcial Rodríguez and Susanna Sciacovelli, this approach emphasizes the importance of Mallorca evolving as a sustainable destination and an ideal place to live. Valuable data about residents’ expectations regarding tourism are being collected to redefine the island’s tourism management.

“Island of Tomorrow”

Throughout this process, participants have shared their vision of how the island should develop to ensure harmonious coexistence between residents and tourists. The Mallorca brand will be repositioned not only as an international tourist destination but also as a place that prioritizes the quality of life for its inhabitants.

This project stands out for its focus on the human experience and personal emotions of residents, ensuring that Mallorca’s future is based on values of coexistence and responsibility, thereby strengthening its identity as the “Island of Tomorrow.”
