Palma has established itself as one of the top destinations worldwide for executive nomads, ranking seventh in the prestigious Executive Nomad Index, compiled by the international consultancy Savills. This index ranks cities based on their appeal to professionals who work remotely and seek to combine quality of life with job opportunities and networking.
Palma has climbed the rankings compared to last year, surpassing destinations like Barbados and the Algarve. The Balearic capital has been recognized for its exceptional quality of life, high-speed Internet, air connectivity, and accessibility of ‘prime’ rental housing, all key factors for executive nomads seeking a balance between work and well-being.
Third in Spain
On a national level, two other Spanish cities stand out in the ranking. Málaga occupies an impressive third place, just behind Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which lead the classification. Barcelona, for its part, is in sixth place, just ahead of Palma. These results position Spain as a highly attractive country for executive nomads, who value culture, gastronomy, climate, and the ability to enjoy the beach while working remotely.
The Savills study emphasizes that executive nomads tend to be older than traditional digital nomads and often relocate with their families. Therefore, they seek destinations that offer not only a good quality of life but also safety, access to health and education services, and excellent connectivity infrastructures.
Globally, Dubai and Abu Dhabi top the ranking thanks to their modern infrastructure, high quality of life, and leadership in air connectivity. Other notable destinations include Miami and Lisbon, which precede Palma on the list, and emerging destinations like Bali and Cape Town, which have gained popularity among executive nomads in recent years.
This recognition reinforces Palma’s position as an international hub for professionals seeking an ideal environment to balance their personal and professional lives, establishing itself as a reference destination for the growing community of executive nomads worldwide.
