The Govern and Cort will allocate 20 million euros for a fairground in Nou Llevant, a museum in the Gesa building and a Renove plan for sports centers, the main investments of the Govern and Cort in Palma for 2024. This has been agreed by the Consell de Capitalitat de Palma, which was constituted yesterday
To these 22.5 million euros is added the million euros corresponding to the agreement for the reform of Son Moix, in addition to the fact that the City Council will participate in the Local Cooperation Fund of the Govern.
This has been agreed in the Consell de Capitalitat de Palma, which has been constituted for the first time in this legislature with the mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, as president of the body, the head of the Balearic Executive, Marga Prohens, as vice president, and the highest authority of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, as second vice president.
It is a “historic day” for Palma because of the 20 million contribution to which the Government has committed, which shows a “firm commitment” of the administrations and will allow to carry out projects that “improve the quality of life of the citizens”.
It should be noted that the Consell de Capitalitat is integrated, in addition to the mayor of Palma and the presidents of the Govern and Consell, three members of the autonomous Executive: the Minister of Finance, Antoni Costa, the Presidency, Antònia Maria Estarellas, and the Minister of Tourism, Jaume Bauzà. Three other island councilors are also members; the Councilor of Territory, Fernando Rubio, the Councilor of Culture, Antònia Roca, and the Councilor of Social Welfare, Guillermo Sánchez, as well as three other Cort councilors; the Councilor of Tourism and Culture, Javi Bonet, the Councilor of Finance, Mercedes Celeste, and the Councilor of Infrastructures, Belén Soto.
