The candidate for the presidency will unpack his government program from noon today, Tuesday, in the first session of the investiture debate and will have no time limit. After the PP candidate, the representatives of the groups will speak, from highest to lowest. The session can be followed through the YouTube channel of the Congress<\/a><\/p>\n

The first day of the investiture debate of the Popular Party candidate, Alberto N\u00fa\u00f1ez Feij\u00f3o, will be dedicated to his speech and to the first replies of the parliamentary groups, which will intervene from highest to lowest. It is expected that tomorrow, Wednesday, the replies to the candidate will conclude and the first vote will be taken. The second, in principle, will be on Friday. Feij\u00f3o will need at least 176 votes to be proclaimed president. All this after Sunday 40,000 people participated in the concentration of rejection of the amnesty law that Junts and the PSOE could negotiate for Puigdemont and the rest of those convicted for the ‘proc\u00e9s’ and that would make Pedro S\u00e1nchez president after a failed investiture<\/p>\n

On the other hand, yesterday, Sunday, the Popular Party rejected in a political act “in defense of all Spaniards” the amnesty law that Junts and PSOE could negotiate to make Pedro S\u00e1nchez president again. The rally held yesterday Sunday noon in Madrid just 48 hours for the investiture debate of Alberto N\u00fa\u00f1ez Feij\u00f3o.<\/p>\n

Two chances to be invested president<\/h2>\n

This will be an intense week in the political arena in which Alberto N\u00fa\u00f1ez Feij\u00f3o will have two opportunities to be invested president of the Government. The popular will present his government program today, Tuesday, and then he will have to listen to the replies of the spokespersons of the parliamentary groups. Tomorrow, Wednesday, he will be submitted to a first vote in which he would need at least 176 votes to be proclaimed president. Right now, in the absence of 4, he has 172 confirmed votes. In case of not succeeding, on Friday he would be submitted to a second vote in which it would be enough for him to have more votes in favor than against.<\/p>\n

Thus, the popular candidate has two chances to be invested president, but if they do not succeed, Felipe VI will have to call a new round of consultations. In this new opportunity, most probably, Pedro S\u00e1nchez would run again as president. If Felipe VI proposes him as candidate, the Socialist will submit himself to the investiture with a deadline. Therefore, if no one obtains the necessary support, Parliament would be dissolved on November 27. New elections would be called on Sunday, January 14. As it is a repetition, the campaign would only last one week and would start on Epiphany.<\/p>\n

40,000 people rally against Sanchez’s amnesty law<\/h2>\n

On the other hand, on Sunday, the Popular Party rejected in a political act “in defense of all Spaniards” the amnesty law that Junts and PSOE could negotiate to make Pedro S\u00e1nchez president again.<\/p>\n

The rally was held\u00a0 in Madrid just 48 hours before the investiture debate of Alberto N\u00fa\u00f1ez Feij\u00f3o. He had the support of the top echelon of the Popular Party. Among the attendees were the strong men of the party, such as the former presidents of the Government Mariano Rajoy and Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Aznar.<\/p>\n

Also the president of the Govern of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, and other representatives of the PP in the islands. For her part, Prohens affirmed that this act had the citizens as protagonist because she assured that they are the ones who want to be equal before the law regardless of who they are. And she remarked the idea that not all options to be in power are valid, in reference to the negotiation that S\u00e1nchez would be carrying out with the independentistas to approve an amnesty law for Puigdemont and the rest of those convicted for the ‘proc\u00e9s’.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
