The aim is that artisans can enjoy a seal of quality that differentiates those who work with local and handmade products. Thus the insular institution launches the brand ‘Artesan\u00eda de Mallorca’ (Crafts of Mallorca)<\/p>\n

Under the name ‘Artesan\u00eda de Mallorca’ the Consell de Mallorca wants to create a distinctive seal that differentiates the artisans of the island: those who sell local and handmade products. For years the sector has been in decline, suffers from intrusion and claims to combat unfair competition. For this reason, the insular institution is already working on different initiatives so that consumers can easily recognize the artisan product of Mallorca.<\/p>\n

The process of elaboration of the brand is already underway: the Consell de Mallorca has begun the processing of the corporate image and the regulations. When both are ready, the registration of the trademark will begin, which may take between 12 and 18 months. Once this process is finished, Mallorcan artisans who meet the requirements that will be established in the regulations will be able to use the brand ‘Artesan\u00eda de Mallorca’ to accompany their products and make them more recognizable.<\/p>\n

The ‘Gremi d’Oficis Artesans’ with the brand ‘Artesan\u00eda de Mallorca’<\/h2>\n

The Consell de Mallorca has met with the Gremi d’Oficis Artesans to listen to their proposals and needs and has been able to demonstrate the importance of controlling that the product that is sold in the different fairs and streets is really handmade. Right now, regrets the sector, in fairs and markets you can find a wide range of products that are passed off as artisans and they are not.<\/p>\n

Thus, with the seal ‘Artesan\u00eda de Mallorca’, not only will differentiate businesses and products that follow this regulation, but they will also have to pass the relevant inspections. The objective is that consumers have the certainty that the product they buy is of quality, handmade and made in Mallorca, while making a public recognition of the quality work done by artisans.<\/p>\n
