<\/p>\nResidents of Manacor have launched an anti-tourist poster campaign on the beaches of the Mallorcan municipality. With the aim of preserving tranquillity on the beaches and avoiding the overcrowding of tourists, they have placed these signs in the most visited coves and beaches in the area. The signs display striking warnings such as “Beach closed”, “Dangerous jellyfish”, “Bathing prohibited due to polluted water” and “Rocks falling”. But just below, translated into Catalan, the opposite information appears: “Open beach”, “No tourists or jellyfish” or “No landslides, just overcrowding”.<\/p>\n

The campaign has left no one indifferent and reflects one of the realities of the island: the large influx of tourists in summer. Overcrowding is one of the problems most perceived by residents and even by tourists every year.<\/p>\n
Along these lines, the Instagram account Cap de fava amb Orelles (@capdefavaamborelles) recently published a map of beaches for tourists. In the illustration, it can be seen how almost the entire silhouette of Mallorca, except for the bay of Palma, Calvi\u00e0 and Andratx, issues warnings such as “fecal waters”, “killer jellyfish” or “electrical risk” to dissuade visitors from visiting these areas. While the coast from Palma to Andratx is classified as safe for bathing.<\/p>\n
