The Calvi\u00e0 Town Hall has fined 161,000 euros to a company that offered illegal party boats in Magaluf. The sanction was established on the basis of compliance with the tourism decree of excesses. The local police of the municipality detected the advertising and sale of tickets for party boats. Subsequently, the transfer of customers for embarkation and disembarkation and the availability of alcoholic beverages on board.<\/p>\n
It so happens that the activity was taking place in Magaluf, an area included in Decree Law 1\/2020, of 17 January, against excessive tourism for the improvement of quality in tourist areas. As a result of the police action, a fine of 161,000 euros was imposed on the company that offered these parties on the boats.<\/p>\n
Juan Feliu, general director of Activities and Commerce, Infringements and Sanctions, and Roads and Works of the Calvi\u00e0 Town Hall, confirmed that “this is a very serious infringement which has resulted in the corresponding fine of 161,000 euros. It must be taken into account that the company has been caught by the Local Police embarking clients in a boat equipped for the sale. The evidence is irrefutable”.<\/p>\n
In the complaint of the local police officers, it is stated that around 130 people were found to be boarding the boat on a jetty in Magaluf after paying an entrance fee of 45 euros per person. Some of the customers were already showing obvious signs of drunkenness before boarding. Once on board, the sale of alcoholic beverages, boards with prices, beer pullers… In the hold there are unlabelled bottles of alcohol and full plastic bottles. An amplified music system was also found to liven up the party.<\/p>\n
For Feliu, the illegal offer of party boats has to be stopped “whether they take place in Calvi\u00e0 or anywhere else, whether our municipality is the origin or destination of these alcoholic excursions. Our entrepreneurs in the tourist sector and their employees work very hard every day to maintain and improve the external image of Calvi\u00e0.
