Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced a name change for Twitter, which has been operating under the name ‘X’ since yesterday. The aim is for it to become a broader platform, “focused on audio, video, messaging and payments\/banking” and in which Artificial Intelligence would play a special role. With this decision, which was announced by Musk in October 2022, his desire to use the app as an “accelerator” for a “super app” is made concrete.<\/p>\n

The emblematic blue bird has given way to a new logo in the shape of a cross that has been projected on the fa\u00e7ade of the company’s buildings in San Francisco. According to executives, this is an opportunity to offer a new impression of Twitter and make it the expression of “the future of unlimited interactivity”. To this end, and in order to “connect everyone”, artificial intelligence will be used to create “a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunities”, they said.<\/p>\n

The success of the Chinese application WeChat could be behind this decision by the tycoon, who wants to transform Twitter, with hundreds of millions of users, into much more than a platform for short messages. These could be renamed “x’s” (in English, “x’s”), according to Elon Musk. The linking of this spelling with the world of pornography has sparked comments of all kinds.<\/p>\n
