<\/p>\nAccording to an Exceltur report presented on Thursday, tourism in Spain will equal this year’s contribution to GDP in 2019, reaching 12.6%. It also ensures that the tourism sector in the Balearic Islands will place its sales in high season 25.8% above the figures of four years ago<\/p>\n
Sales in the Balearic Islands tourism sector will grow this summer by 25.8% above the figures for 2019. This is according to an Exceltur report presented on Thursday.<\/p>\n
This analysis indicates that in the second quarter, the archipelago already recorded sales increases of 26% compared to before the pandemic.

As for the rest of Spain, the Exceltur report states that the weight of tourism in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Spain will equal the figure of 2019 this 2023, and will thus represent 12.6% of the total.<\/p>\n
Following good results in the first half of 2023 and good forecasts for this summer, Exceltur has revised upwards its estimate of tourism GDP to 178,831 million euros, up 13.6% on the 2019 level. Exceltur states that these data “would point to the recovery path initiated in 2022 and would make it possible for the contribution of tourism to the Spanish economy to return to the levels prior to the health crisis”.<\/p>\n
With regard to the summer season, the Spanish tourism sector will increase its sales by 10.9% in the third quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2019. Leisure companies and equipment (+13.4%) and hotels (+12.2%) are the ones with the highest prospects of improving their sales for the summer.<\/p>\n
By destination, the Balearic Islands (+25.8%), Asturias (+23%) and the Basque Country (+21.2%) are at the forefront of expected sales dynamism.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
