Between September and January, the historic venue of the Teatre Principal will host 49 shows, with fifteen new productions of its own. The new 2023-2024 season focuses on dance, theatre, film, music and opera.<\/p>\n

Palma’s Teatro Principal has presented the new 2023-2024 season corresponding to the period between September and January. During these five months, the Sala Grande and Sala Peque\u00f1a will host up to 49 dance, theatre, family theatre, film, music and opera performances.<\/p>\n

During the second half of 2023, the Teatre Principal will host four dance shows starting with ‘Para cuatro jinetes’, which will open the season on 14th September, a co-production with the company Mucha Muchacha and Teatros del Canal de Madrid.<\/p>\n

It will be followed by ‘A Beginning_*expanded version’, by Aurora Bauz\u00e0 and Pere Jou, a co-production with the Auditorium, Centre Chor\u00e9graphique National de Orleans (France). This production will be premiered at the Greek Festival of Barcelona, with the participation of the Coro Juveni del Teatre Principal. It will come to the Sala Grande on 12 October.<\/p>\n

On the 4th and 5th of November, as part of the 25th Mediterranean Poetry Festival, Mal Pelo’s new play, ‘Double infinite’, a production by the Teatre Principal with the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, the Griego Festival de Barcelona, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de la Ville de Paris and Temporada Alta, will be coming to the Sala Grande.<\/p>\n

Afrikan Party’, by choreographer Oulouy and Africa Momento, a show of African dance fused with contemporary dance, will be performed on the 1st of December.<\/p>\n

Theatre season<\/h2>\n

The theatre season kicks off on the 16th and 17th of September with the revival of the in-house production ‘Reis del m\u00f3n’ by Sebasti\u00e0 Alzamora, this season’s big hit, with playwriting by Josep M. Mir\u00f3 and direction by Jos\u00e9 Martret.<\/p>\n

El cos m\u00e9s bonic que s’haur\u00e0 trobat mai en aquest lloc’, by Josep Maria Mir\u00f3 and performed by Pere Arquillu\u00e9, is a play that has won the Critics’ Prize for best text and best leading actor. At the Sala Grande on 1 October.<\/p>\n

On the 6th and 7th of October, ‘El gran manicomi’, a new co-production with Estudi Zero based on the poetry of Antonina Canyelles. La posibilidad de la ternura’, by Marco Layera and Carolina de la Maza, is a play about patriarchy, starring teenagers, which comes from Chile and will be onstage on the 9th and 10th of October.<\/p>\n

One of the highlights of the season will be ‘Romeo and Juliet’, starring Ana Bel\u00e9n and Jos\u00e9 Luis G\u00f3mez, which transfers Shakespeare’s tragedy from adolescence to old age. It will take place on the 14th and 15th of October.<\/p>\n
