Mallorcans Ant\u00f2nia Font and Xavibo<\/strong> win the MIN Independent Music Awards at last night’s ceremony at the Palma Auditorium<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ant\u00f2nia Font<\/strong> received the MIN Awards for Independent Music recognition last night for her comeback album Un minut estrabosc\u00f2pica<\/em>. The Mallorcan rapper Xavibo<\/strong> was another of the night’s winners at the gala held in the Audit\u00f2rium de Palma<\/strong>. With five awards, Anni B Swwet and Los Estanques<\/strong> were the big winners of the evening presented by artist Samantha Hudson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Mallorcan band picked up the title of Best Album in Catalan<\/strong> for their comeback album released in 2022. They were also recognised a few months ago as best artist of the year at the Enderrock<\/strong> awards a few months ago. Ant\u00f2nia Font came out ahead of Marala<\/strong>, by the Mallorcan Clara Fiol, as well as Anna Andreu, Els Catarres and Mishima<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Palma rapper Xavibo<\/strong> received the award for Best Original Lyrics<\/strong> for his song Llorar al rev\u00e9s<\/em> (Crying backwards<\/em>). He beat Tanxugueiras<\/strong>, who were the favourites, as well as Zahara, Karmento and Las Migas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The big winners of the night were Anni B Sweet and Los Estanques<\/strong>, winners of The Orchard Award for Album of the Year<\/strong> and Agedi for Best Pop Album<\/strong> for Burbuja c\u00f3moda y elefante inesperado<\/em>. In addition, their song Brillabas<\/em> was proclaimed Best Song of the Year<\/strong> and they also went up to collect the award for Best Artist<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Tanxugueiras<\/strong>, who were the favourites of the night with seven nominations, finally won two, Best Galician Album and Best Root Music Album<\/strong> for their work Diluvio<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The gala featured performances by the big winners, Anni B Sweet and Los Estanques<\/strong>, as well as La La Love, Karmento, Shego, OR (O-ERRA), Las Migas and Xavibo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Other awards were: Best Emerging Artist<\/strong> for the group Shego<\/strong>; Biznaga won Best Rock Album<\/strong> for Bremen no existe<\/em>; the hip-hop duo SFDK<\/strong> took the stage for their new album, Cardioempat\u00eda<\/em>, Best Urban Music Album<\/strong>; and Zahara<\/strong> won Best Live Performance<\/strong>. Best Jazz Album<\/strong> went to Jorge Pardo’s Trance Sketches<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
