This planning instrument sets out the criteria that will determine the evolution of the islands&#8217; port system over <strong>the next 10 years<\/strong>. It does not permit either the construction of new ports or the enlargement of existing ones. It also proposes specific, <strong>low-impact solutions such as the reorganisation of moorings,<\/strong> the creation of <strong>temporary anchoring areas<\/strong> with low-impact buoys, the provision of a<strong> network of dry marinas<\/strong> mainly in inland areas or areas close to existing ports and the improvement in the management or <strong>promotion of sailing clubs<\/strong> to improve mooring places and ensure that more people from the islands can enjoy sailing.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, the General Ports Plan of the Balearic Islands aims to maintain public management of the ports of the Balearic Islands, as a guarantee of citizens&#8217; access to nautical spaces; the optimisation of existing port infrastructures, without new extensions or new ports; the promotion of new services and new formulas for enjoying the nautical world; the need for each port to be integrated into the urban area, so that the ports are not isolated spaces, and the planning of the necessary actions to have ports prepared to face the effects of climate change. <strong>This planning has been agreed with the nautical sector and the administrations involved<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Ports of the Balearic Islands<\/h2>\n<p>In total, <strong>Ports de les Illes Balears manages 47 ports<\/strong>, 13 low-impact anchoring areas and 13 ramp facilities. In total, approximately<strong> 14,500 mooring points<\/strong>.
