The airports of the Balearic Islands closed the first quarter of this year with a total of 4,056,296 passengers. This means a growth of almost 30% over last year and just over 5% more than in 2019<\/b>, before the pandemic. This is shown by Aena data.<\/b><\/p>\n
By airports, more than 3.1 million passengers passed through Palma<\/b> airport between January and March this year, 2.3% more than in 2019 and 31% more than last year<\/b>. Those of Menorca and Ibiza have experienced the highest growth with respect to 2019: 291,416 passengers have passed through Menorca, nearly 15% more, while more than 678,000 passengers have passed through Ibiza, 14.5% more than before the pandemic.<\/p>\nPalma<\/b><\/h2>\n
Son Sant Joan is the airport with the highest passenger traffic: 7 out of 10 passengers arriving in the Balearic Islands have passed through the Majorcan airport<\/b>. According to Aena data, of the 1.3 million passengers who arrived in March<\/b>, 658,546 were domestic and 685,243 were international. The state travelers are followed by Germany, with 376,478 passengers and the United Kingdom, with 129,031 travelers.<\/p>\nIbiza<\/b><\/h2>\n
Ibiza Airport recorded a total of 284,996 passengers last March<\/b>, 18.7% more than in the same month of 2019 and 21.4% more than in 2022.<\/p>\n
By country, Spain is the market that contributed the most passengers, with 236,590 passengers, grew by 9.8% compared to March 2019 and 17.3% compared to the same month of 2022. In second position is the United Kingdom<\/b>, with 13,271 passengers (+168.9% and +57.2%), and in third, the Netherlands<\/b>, with 12,145 (+13.8% and +25.1%).<\/p>\nMenorca<\/b><\/h2>\n
Menorca Airport closed March with a total of 119,873 passengers,<\/b> which is 11.9% more than in the same month of 2019 and 22.8% more than in 2022. The domestic market registered 112,684 travelers (+8.7% than 2019 and +22.6% than last year), while the international market added 7,161 (+136% and +25.7%).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
