The performance used to take place on the steps of La Seu, and now it will be staged at Ses Voltes.<\/p>\n<p>The company staging the text, <strong>written in 1961 by Lloren\u00e7 Moy\u00e0<\/strong>, is Taula Rodona Teatre, directed by Bernat Pujol. The play presents one of the most renowned texts by the Binissalem-born author, whose<strong> &#8220;L&#8217;adoraci\u00f3 dels reis&#8221;<\/strong> (The Adoration of the Kings) is also traditionally performed on the 6th of January. Small changes have been made to the performance, but &#8220;what really influences these changes is the significant degree of improvisation at the time&#8221;, according to the director of Taula Rodona Teatre, Bernat Pujol.<\/p>\n<p>The 18 actors will leave the <strong>Pla\u00e7a de Cort at midday and travel to Ses Voltes<\/strong>, where the performance will take place in front of hundreds of people.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-42304 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Via-crucis-2023-002.jpg\" alt=\"via crucis 2023\" width=\"520\" height=\"737\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Via-crucis-2023-002-200x284.jpg 200w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Via-crucis-2023-002-212x300.jpg 212w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Via-crucis-2023-002-400x567.jpg 400w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Via-crucis-2023-002-600x851.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Via-crucis-2023-002-722x1024.jpg 722w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Via-crucis-2023-002-768x1089.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Via-crucis-2023-002-800x1135.jpg 800w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Via-crucis-2023-002.jpg 875w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 520px) 100vw, 520px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This year, \u00c0ngel Colomer will play the role of Christ, while the Virgin Mary will be played by actress Ana Garcia. Ver\u00f2nica will be played by Xisca Alcornocal, while Sara Mingolla will be the Cirineo. The soldiers will be David Mart\u00edn and Toni Borr\u00e0s, while the thieves will be Eric Mascar\u00f3 Lladre and Rafel Pizarro. The cast is completed by Carles Exp\u00f3sito, \u00c0ngel Mascar\u00f3, Aina Segura Dona Margalida Bibiloni, Carme Feliu, Isabel Mar\u00eda Monterde, Margalida Coll, Clara Pascual, Aina Borr\u00e0s and Alba Pascual.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be presented by Pujol, who is also in charge of the stage design, and Catalina Sureda, Maria Magdalena Aguil\u00f3, Pep Banyo and Miquel Garau will act as readers. The music will be provided by Jaume Salom, Teresa Gil and Carlos Gil.<\/p>\n<h2>Lloren\u00e7 Moy\u00e0 i Gilabert de la Portella<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Moy\u00e0 was born in Binissalem in 1916 and died in 1981 in Palma<\/strong>. A graduate in Law, he was a poet, playwright and storyteller. Professionally, he worked in the public administration. He won the Ciutat de Palma prize with &#8216;&#8221;El fog\u00f3 dels jueus&#8221;, and he cultivated traditional Mallorcan theatre, of which this Via crucis is a sample, along with the traditional &#8220;L&#8217;adoraci\u00f3 dels reis&#8221;, which the troupe performs on the 6th of January in Ses Voltes.
