The UME military emergency unit arrived on the island yesterday and remained in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range all day Wednesday night to assist in the rescue efforts due to the effects of Juliette<\/strong><\/p>\n

Throughout yesterday, emergency helicopters carried out reconnaissance flights in the Serra de Tramuntana to check on the condition and needs of people living on isolated farms.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Military Emergency Unit joined the rescue effort with 90 people and 36 means, including machines, drones and a helicopter. The rescue team is also made up of around 80 IBANAT, Majorca Fire Brigade, Guardia Civil, road workers and emergency technicians who have been working over the last few days to help those trapped in the Serra de Tramuntana to get down to the Serra de Tramuntana.<\/p>\n

\nAir and land rescues<\/h2>\n

Late on Wednesday, Emergencias reported that it was possible to rescue the isolated family to the C\u00faber refuge. On the way, the helicopter also rescued three children who were in the area.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, by land, the Guardia Civil evacuated a hundred people who had been isolated to the Santuari de Lluc on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

They also rescued by helicopter a person who was near the Tossals Verds refuge. As well as a 63-year-old hiker, who was evacuated to Son Espases with a possible hip fractureThroughout the day emergency helicopters have made reconnaissance flights over the Serra to check the condition and needs of people living on isolated farms. And they have transferred food, water and basic products to Son Llobera. These actions are in addition to the rescue carried out yesterday afternoon of the two families who were in the Menut recreational area.<\/p>\n
