The Government is commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Statute of Autonomy and the Day of the Balearic Islands with solidarity concerts by the Symphony Orchestra together with Maria del Mar Bonet, Cris Juanico and Ressonadors. Tickets are priced at \u20ac5 and the proceeds will go to the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maria del Mar Bonet, Ressonadors and Cris Juanico<\/strong> will offer a series of solidarity concerts with the Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica Illes Balears throughout the islands to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Statute of Autonomy of the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n

The concerts will take place in Palma’s Teatro Principal on the 10th of March<\/strong> at 9:30 pm in the case of Mallorca<\/strong>. They will be held at the Palacio de Congresos in Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu, in Eivissa, on the 25th of March at 8 pm. The Teatro Principal in Ma\u00f3 will host the performance on the 26th of April at 8 pm. The details of the concert in Formentera are pending closure.<\/p>\n

What are the ticket prices and where to buy them?<\/h2>\n

Tickets will cost five euros and can be purchased at the box offices of the respective theatres and on the Symphony’s website.<\/a> The proceeds will go to the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.<\/p>\n

These concerts are also part of the celebration of the Day of the Balearic Islands, which this year offers 267 cultural, sporting, gastronomic and children’s events<\/a> for all citizens.<\/p>\n

Concert programme<\/h2>\n

The Symphony Orchestra will begin the concert with the Ressonadors<\/strong> to perform “An\u00e0rem a Sant Miquel”, “Jo tenc una enamorada”, “Visc a Formentera”. Then it will be the turn of Cris Juanico<\/strong> to share the stage with “Si v\u00e9ns”, “Com un infant”, “Na Cecilia”, “Un vol de miloca” and “Enmig del desert”. And finally Maria del Mar Bonet<\/strong> will close a great night with “Merhaba”, “Les illes”, “La dansa de la primavera”, “Des de Mallorca a l’Alguer”, “La jota marinera”.<\/p>\n

Ressonadors<\/h3>\n

The Ressonadors are a group of musicians who play traditional songs from Eivissa and Formentera<\/strong> adapted to a contemporary sound by the most important artists from or linked to the Piti\u00fcses. It has received awards such as the Ramon Llull Prize from the Balearic Government in 2011<\/strong> and the Citizen’s Merit Award from the Council of Eivissa.<\/p>\n

Cris Juanico<\/h3>\n

The Menorcan<\/strong> Cris Juanico has a prolific professional career spanning more than twenty years and twenty recordings. Since 2003 he has been in charge of the record label and recording studios Aumon. Various Menorcan artists have worked with him, such as Inventari, Jazz Do It, Tremendamente, S’Ensamble, Agrupaci\u00f3 Musical de Ciutadella, Escolania Infantil de Ciutadella, etc.<\/p>\n

Maria del Mar Bonet<\/h3>\n

Maria del Mar Bonet has always been related to the folklore of her homeland. The director of the Symphony Orchestra, Pablo Mielgo<\/strong>, stressed that she is a Balearic artist and a “universal Mediterranean citizen”. The concert to mark the 40th anniversary of the Statute is “an opportunity to get to know the identities of the Balearic Islands through music”, he added.<\/p>\n
