Cort is working to repair the 8-metre sinkhole that has appeared in Avingudes as a result of the heavy rains caused by storm Juliette in Palma. Another, smaller one, has appeared in Passeig Mar\u00edtim, in Avinguda Gabriel Roca at the height of the old Pacha. The local police are also regulating traffic on Avinguda Alexandre Rossell\u00f3, in front of El Corte Ingl\u00e9s, where part of the asphalt has begun to be opened in the direction of Paseo Mar\u00edtimo<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Palma police are keeping a watchful eye on traffic while EMAYA workers are working to repair the sinkhole that has appeared in Avingudes. Traffic has been cut off on Avinguda Alemanya towards Pla\u00e7a Espanya<\/strong>, diverting it towards the General Riera and Antoni Marqu\u00e8s tunnels. The police are also regulating traffic on Avinguda Gabriel Roca at the old Pacha<\/strong>. Traffic in the direction of Andratx is being diverted along carrer de Monsenyor Palmer and traffic in the direction of Arenal, towards Avinguda Joan Mir\u00f3.<\/p>\n

The sinkhole was caused by the heavy rains brought by storm Juliette this morning on the Avingudes de Palma<\/strong>, at the height of the former Sa Nostra headquarters. It has a diameter of eight metres<\/strong> and two of the three lanes in the direction of Pla\u00e7a Espanya and one of the three lanes in the direction of General Riera have had to be closed.<\/p>\n

Eight torrents overflowed and 17 stretches of road cut off by Juliette<\/h2>\n

The storm of rain, wind, cold and snow that is affecting the Balearic Islands has left 160 incidents since yesterday<\/strong>, according to the Emergency Service: 147 in Mallorca, 9 in Menorca and 4 in Ibiza. Of these, 21 in Felanitx, 10 in Escorca and 10 in Manacor.<\/p>\n

To highlight 30 assists to the road, 23 falling trees, 20 large sinkholes in the road and 17 road cuts, of which 14 sections remain inoperative at this point.<\/strong>
\nThey are: Ma10 from Pollen\u00e7a to Fornalutx, Ma2141 from Sa Calobra, Ma2130 from Caimari to Lluc, Ma11a from Coll de S\u00f3ller, Ma2100 from Bunyola to Orient, Ma5018 from Randa to Cura, Ma3331 from Colonia de Sant Pere to Betlem, Ma1032 from Galilea to Puigpunyent. As well Ma1101 from Puigpunyent to Esporles, Ma10 on the Coll d’en Claret between Valldemossa and Port des Canonge, Ma4100 old road from Manacor to Art\u00e0, Ma4014 from Portocolom to Portocristo, Ma3433 from Sa Pobla to Playa de Muro and Ma4010 from Felanitx to Portocolom.<\/p>\n

Between Art\u00e0 and Capdepera, the water coming down from the Sos Sastres mountains runs over the road at some points.<\/p>\n

Overflowing torrents<\/h2>\n

The Aemet is maintaining the red warning for snow in the Serra de Tramuntana until 9 am this morning<\/strong>. To this warning has been added another, also red, at 6 a.m. for rough seas.
