For the first time, Balearic airports reached 1.14 million passengers in January and thus exceeded pre-pandemic data<\/strong><\/p>\n

Balearic airports exceeded pre-pandemic data for the first time with 1.14 million passengers in January. Palma airport had 858,580 passengers, 2.3 percent more than four years ago. Ibiza airport reached 15 percent more, with 199,402 passengers, and Menorca airport had 18.6 percent more, with 84,017 passengers.<\/p>\n

These figures are in addition to the forecasts made a few days ago by the president of the Hotel Business Federation of Mallorca (FEHM), Mar\u00eda Frontera<\/a>, who predicted a “definitely very good” tourist season, as bookings are firming up.<\/p>\n

In the case of Son Sant Joan, the majority of travellers flew from and\/or to a Spanish city, which translates into an increase of 16 per cent compared to January 2019. In international flights, the recovery is 84.3 per cent compared to 2019. Germany is the country that added the most passengers with 177,182. Travellers from France, the United Kingdom and Austria also grew.<\/p>\n

Ibiza and Menorca<\/h2>\n

In Ibiza, most of the registered users travelled on commercial connections, most of them to or from a Spanish city. The Netherlands was the international market with the highest number of passengers, followed by the United Kingdom. On the other hand, most of the passengers recorded at Menorca airport travelled on domestic routes, followed by France and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
