The Llucmajor nativity scene has just opened to the public. Created by Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Valado Ferrer (Xema), this Nativity Scene has several special features, including the surface area it occupies and the number of elements that make it up. The nativity scene is installed in the Cloister of Sant Bonaventura and can be visited free of charge from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 20:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00.<\/p>\n
The preparation of the Llucmajor nativity scene has meant that the nativity scene maker Xema Valado has invested nearly 150 hours in its assembly. It is made up of nearly 1,000 handcrafted elements that recreate the nativity scene and occupy 20 square metres in the Claustre de Sant Bonaventura.<\/p>\n
Xema Valado is a resident of the municipality of Llucmajor, and is a member of the Agrupaci\u00f3n de Belenistas Francisco Rossell\u00f3, and has created nativity scenes such as the one at the Centro de Historia Militar de Palma.<\/p>\n
For Valado, developing this Llucmajor nativity scene has been, in his own words, “a source of pride, as being able to participate in the municipality’s Christmas celebrations is very exciting”. He also added that “I hope that the nativity scene will be to the public’s liking. It has taken a great deal of effort. I have tried to recreate a landscape-style nativity scene divided into three environments, a desert area, a mountain area and the nativity itself”.<\/p>\n
The Town Hall would like to thank Valado for his efforts, as he has developed the Llucmajor Nativity Scene in a totally altruistic way so that it can be enjoyed by the residents not only of the municipality of Llucmajor, but of the entire island.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
