Palma occupied third place in the ranking of Spanish cities with the highest level of income per tourist place in summer (124.7 euros), only behind San Sebastian (170.4) and Barcelona (145.2). This is the result of the data provided by the Exceltur barometer of profitability and employment in the top 100 Spanish tourist destinations.<\/p>\n
According to the report, this summer of 2022 the tourist income of Spanish cities grew by +7.2% compared to the level of 2019, standing at 91.4 euros, below the RevPAR reached by holiday destinations. The improvement in revenue comes mainly from the strong reactivation of summer stays, city breaks and the MICE segment from September, which has allowed prices to recover to respond to the generalised increase in costs, in a context of occupancies slightly below pre-pandemic levels (-4.3%), due to the lack of recovery of some long-haul markets, mainly in Asia.<\/p>\n
Cities with a more coastal holiday profile and international demand (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Alicante, Elche, Malaga, Palma and Valencia) are the ones that recorded the greatest recovery in revenue this summer 2022, compared to the records of 2019. In this sense, Palma ranked fifth among the cities with the highest revenue recovery last summer thanks to its more holiday profile and international demand, with an 18% increase per room compared to 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
