To open the debate on limiting the sale of homes to foreigners. This is one of the objectives of the Balearic government. The Councillor for Economic Model, Tourism and Employment, Iago Negueruela, declared in Parliament that “limits on housing must be established at a European level, as other countries in the Union have”. In this sense, Negueruela cited the cases of Malta, Finland and Denmark, which “in an agreed manner” have set limits in this area.<\/p>\n
“There has to be an in-depth debate on how this debate should be conducted and organised,” continued Negueruela, because “when we talk about limiting, we are talking about favouring the protection of the first home. This is necessary”.<\/p>\n
In response to the PP deputy Sebasti\u00e0 Sagreras in Parliament, the councillor was categorical in assuring that “this government does not want the PP’s maxim, that we should be the second home of Europe. The Balearic Islands cannot become a theme park where there is no room for the people of our islands,” Negueruela concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
