The investment of the Sustainable Tourism Tax in Mallorca resulting from the 2023 call will have a total impact of 99.18 million euros, between its own projects and others that affect all the islands. Among those promoted by the Government and already approved, the future Llevant corridor stands out, a project aimed at promoting more sustainable and environmentally friendly transport, in line with the future hydrogen or clean energy buses, and to which 30 million euros will be allocated.<\/p>\n
In addition, Mallorca will receive important investments in housing, with 5.8 million euros for the construction of subsidised public housing, and also in the water cycle, in two ways. Firstly, through a project of the Conselleria de Medio Ambiente, endowed with 20 million euros, 14.29 million of which will reach the island, with the aim of guaranteeing the supply of drinking water. This project will be managed directly by the local councils of Mallorca. Secondly, through a project to be carried out by the Calvi\u00e0 town council, the island will receive 3.53 million euros for investments in water.<\/p>\n
The President of the Commission and Minister of Economic Model, Tourism and Employment, Iago Negueruela, expressed his satisfaction after the approval of the Annual Plan and stressed that “it is an important day” for the Islands, “thanks to the ITS, the Balearic Islands can better face and solve the externalities caused by tourism”.<\/p>\n
In this line, Negueruela has valued very positively the distribution that has been made of the total collection of the sustainable tourism tax: “A clear commitment has been made to the water cycle, the environment and sustainable mobility, as well as economic diversification, with significant investments in all the islands,” he explained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
