<\/p>\nThe Government presented the Tourism Awards 2022 yesterday during the Nit del Turisme, held in La Misericordia (Palma). These awards are dedicated to initiatives or actions that are committed to the viability, innovation and sustainability of the tourism product of the community. These awards recognise the contribution to improving the quality, competitiveness and entrepreneurship of the sector.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
K for Kose Kose. It was created in 2011 by its designer and artistic director Ariadna Ferrer and stands out for its work in contemporary textile jewellery, signature headwear and handcrafted accessories made in Eivissa. The jury awarded it the prize for the originality and innovation of its creations, as well as for being an important tourist attraction.<\/p>\n
Villa Le Blanc. Hotel located in Menorca awarded for combining luxury and sustainability. It is the most sustainable hotel of the Meli\u00e1 company and the first carbon neutral hotel on the island of Menorca, as it will incorporate state-of-the-art facilities and technologies that allow it to reduce its emissions by 87%.<\/p>\n
Deixalles Foundation. The jury awarded an initiative of the Fundaci\u00f3 Deixalles for promoting the circular economy in the Horeca and real estate sectors, as well as the social and occupational integration of vulnerable groups, through the collection and reuse of objects and waste.<\/p>\n
Manuel Garc\u00eda Arenas. CCOO legal representative of the workers at the Meli\u00e1 Palma Marina hotel. He has participated in the improvement of working conditions, in the negotiation of equality and training plans for the Meli\u00e1 group, and has always shown great social commitment during the health crisis caused by COVID 19.<\/p>\n
Cecilia Brizuela Mosquera. President of the works committee of the Gran Meli\u00e1 Victoria hotel, she is a member of the Executive Committee and of the Hotel and Catering Sector Management of UGT Illes Balears and a point of reference in trade union action for her great personal and collaborative work in the sector.<\/p>\n
Agenda 2030: Iberostar’s transition towards a circular economy. The jury recognised the chain’s work in positioning the circular economy at the heart of its Agenda 2030, with the aim of being waste-free, carbon neutral and improving the health of the costs that affect a hotel establishment.<\/p>\n
Cas Majoral. For being an example of circular economy and union between the primary and tertiary sectors. All its zero kilometre production is destined for restaurants in Formentera and all its products are made with ecological systems without chemicals.<\/p>\n
Erhart Family (Universal Hotels). Award for more than 50 years of commitment, as well as for the different actions implemented to promote Mallorca as a tourist destination. Also for contributing to the social and economic development of the island in general and of Col\u00f2nia de Sant Jordi in particular.<\/p>\n
Juan Riera Ripoll (Ca n’Alfredo). The jury recognised his career, his work in disseminating information and his defence of traditional Ibizan gastronomy.<\/p>\n
Illa dels Trails. These are 5 trail races with a great tourist attraction that represent an experiential proposal and that are added to the emblematic Trail Menorca Cam\u00ed de Cavalls. They help to promote Menorca and its natural and cultural heritage in the low season.<\/p>\n
Espardenyes Torres. The jury recognises their work in promoting the employment and work of women making a 100% handmade product such as the typical espardenyes of Eivissa, which respect the oldest Ibizan tradition and promote the island all over the world.<\/p>\n
Mavi Garc\u00eda. Renowned duathlete born in Mallorca and who this year will be the captain of the Spanish national team at the World Championships. This Mallorcan sportswoman is recognised for her relevance and for the promotion of our land wherever she goes.<\/p>\n
Alexandra Sch\u00f6rghuber. President and owner of the Arabella Group, the jury recognises her commitment and commitment to quality tourism in Mallorca. Through her tourism proposal, she has managed to link the recognised prestige of her establishments with the Mallorca brand as a quality tourist destination.<\/p>\n
During her speech at the presentation of the Balearic Tourism Awards 2022, Francina Armengol celebrated the “tourism leadership of the Balearic Islands, which also allows us to lead economic growth and employment” and thanked both the island councils and the town councils, business owners and workers for “working together: we all know how hard we have fought and worked so that this season has allowed us to get out of the nightmare”. Armengol also recalled the Government’s commitment to the new Tourism Law, “whose aim is not to grow more, but to distribute the wealth generated by tourism throughout society”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
