<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Directorate General for Emergencies and the Interior (DGEI) has convened the technical support group for floods, chaired by the councillor for the Presidency, Public Function and Equality, Mercedes Garrido, and the director general, Jaume Barcel\u00f3, to activate the INUNBAL. This emergency plan will help the authorities to detect and prevent, with greater immediacy, possible floods caused by the rainy season. The INUBAL has been activated since 15 August and, in principle, will remain in this state until 30 November. The main objective of this emergency plan is to provide an improved response to the operational procedures in the face of the risks of flooding during the coming autumn, thanks to the update by the Consell de Govern after 15 years.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that the activation of this Plan pays special attention to possible DANA (isolated depression at high levels), frequent at this time of the year. The appearance of this phenomenon is very common in the Mediterranean and the Balearic Islands and is caused by the warming of the sea throughout the summer. This summer’s high sea temperatures are worrying some meteorologists, who warn that this season could bring more adverse storms.<\/p>\n
In order to detect these situations in time and deal with them more effectively, the DGEI, as foreseen by the INUNBAL, has a new and updated system for measuring, warning and preventing cases of flood risk, which will also be combined with the forecasts of the AEMET as the state meteorological forecasting body that has the Meteoalerta, the National Plan for Forecasting and Monitoring Adverse Meteorological Phenomena.<\/p>\n
