However, after the announcement of the dismissal of Sonia Vives, has led to the suspension of all scheduled events of the &#8216;Pride Week&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The organization of the event had raised numerous criticisms since its inception. Entities such as Ben Amics opposed it in 2020, accusing her of &#8220;appropriating the pride festival, having unilaterally decided its postponement due to the coronavirus&#8221;. And just yesterday demanded the resignation of Sonia Vivas and the withdrawal of public funds for the &#8216;Pride Week&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, last week&#8217;s controversial statements by the organizer of the event, Kristin Hansen, generated a major crisis between the partners in government in the City Council of Palma.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Sonia Vivas has handed over her seat as councilor after being dismissed from her post by the mayor of Palma.
