The prices, opening hours and services of the refuge, which is the result of the refurbishment of the old ses Porqueres de Galatz\u00f3 building, are the same as those of the rest of the Consell de Mallorca network:<\/p>\n

The councillor for Sustainability and the Environment, Aurora Ribot, said that by February the first hikers are expected to spend the night at the refuge: “There are many people who have never experienced a night in the mountains, who have never seen a starry sky. We believe that when you experience it for the first time you are never the same again”, she added.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new shelter will give more life to the Ruta de Piedra en Seco and to the network of shelters, since it is located at the entrance to the Serra de Tramuntana, in an area where there were none until now\u201d. This was expressed by the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Catalina Cladera. \u201cIn addition, it links nature, hiking and a type of tourism that respects the environment that helps deseasonalize Calvi\u00e0 and Mallorca\u2019s offer. And contributes to the recovery of the Galatz\u00f3 public estate\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\nThe Galatz\u00f3 Shelter, “one of the best”<\/h2>\n
Representatives of the Consell visited the works of the new Galatz\u00f3 Shelter, which “will be one of the best shelters in the network”, according to the Minister Aurora Ribot. “Not only because of the incomparable environment in which it is located, but also because of the facilities”. She thus alluded to the room for events with views of the Serra that will include this new shelter. Ribot insisted on the idea that “the objective is to continue offering spaces to citizens so that nature is an alternative for sustainable leisure”.<\/p>\n
For his part, the mayor of Calvi\u00e0, Alfonso Rodr\u00edguez, explained that “for years, the City Council has been working to recover agricultural uses for the municipality. And turn the farm into a point of attraction in the mid and high season”. Rodr\u00edguez thanked the Consell for its commitment to the recovery of the pigsty to locate this new shelter in Galatz\u00f3.<\/p>\n
The farm, acquired by the Calvi\u00e0 Town Hall in 2006, has great cultural, historical and natural value. The Dry Stone Route passes through the estate on the variant that starts from Es Capdell\u00e0. Specifically, the stage from Galatz\u00f3 to the refuge of sa Coma d’en Vidal.
