The Balearic Government has decided that it will be inflexible with nightlife establishments that fail to comply with health protection measures, announced that it will close the sector if these behaviors continue and announced a special control plan by the end of the year. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Executive made this decision after the videos that circulated on social networks where breaches of current regulations (distance and use of a mask indoors, among others) were observed in several nightclubs in Mallorca, such as the BCM nightclub, which will be sanctioned. <\/span><\/p>\n

The director of the Balearic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (IBASSAL) has met with the president of the Balearic Association of Nightlife and Entertainment (Abono), Miguel P\u00e9rez Mars\u00e1, with the presence of the director of the BCM nightclub, Jaime Llad\u00f3, to demand strict compliance with the standards approved to contain the pandemic caused by COVID-19. <\/span><\/p>\n

In this sense, the Government has regretted these attitudes and has reported that, based on the images analyzed, a file has been opened to initiate the corresponding sanctioning procedure. Special control plan for New Year’s Eve Likewise, the Government has announced a special plan – coordinated by the DG of Emergencies with the local police of Palma and Calvi\u00e0, the Government Delegation and the Inspection bodies of the Department of Tourism and the Consell de Mallorca – which It will be operational on December 31 and January 1, with intense surveillance of the establishments where there is a greater concentration of people. <\/span><\/p>\n

The regional executive warned that if the breaches persist, forceful measures will have to be taken, such as the closure of the entire sector, and regretted that “the effort of the vast majority of businessmen can be neutralized by the irresponsibility of a few “.<\/span><\/p>\n
