The Balearic Islands were the main destination in Spain chosen by international travelers last October for the seventh consecutive month. This is shown by the Survey of Tourist Movements on Borders (FRONTUR) made public by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The Balearic Islands received in October a total of 1.18 million tourists, both national and international.<\/p>\n
The number of national tourists arriving to the Islands during the tenth month of the year was 177,582, while that of foreign travelers was 1 million, which means recovering 85% of those who arrived in the same month of 2019. In addition, yes National visitors are added, the Balearic Islands have registered until October a total of 8.3 million tourists, 6.1 million international and another 2.2 national.<\/p>\n
According to INE data, the Balearic Islands now receive more profitable tourism than that which arrived before the pandemic. This is a tourist who stays longer at the destination (thanks to the increase in the average stay) and who spends more during their vacations, both per day and throughout their stay.<\/p>\n
At the same time, in the accumulated annual, the archipelago is the community that most increased its tourist spending in the first ten months of the year, specifically by 289.8% to 6,982 million euros. In addition, the average expenditure per tourist in September stood at 1,102 euros, above the national average (1,089 euros).<\/p>\n
