The living, design, lifestyle and nautical companies of the Pol\u00edgono de Son Bugadelles have formed the “Mallorca Design District” (MADD), a private initiative that supports the Calvi\u00e0 Town Hall and that seeks to value these companies and position them as a reference in Mallorca in these types of concepts.<\/p>\n

MADD was featured on \u201cThe Circle\u201d during an event that was attended by the president of MADD, Mariana Mu\u00f1oz and the mayor of Calvi\u00e0, Alfonso Rodr\u00edguez Badal, accompanied by members of his government team.<\/p>\n

The mayor welcomed this initiative that represents a double stimulus for the municipality. “On the one hand, it will give a boost to a commercial sector basically made up of small companies that work throughout the year and that, therefore, can help us diversify our productive fabric,” he argued.<\/p>\n

“On the other hand, it will allow us to add more value to our industrial estate, invigorating it and turning it into a pole of attraction for design and lifestyle companies and, consequently, it will promote economic activity and create jobs in our municipality,” he added. .<\/p>\n

Rodr\u00edguez Badal expressed his support for the project, also announcing the commitment to carry out an investment plan in the coming years for the urban improvement of the polygon.<\/p>\n

The president of MADD explained that the initiative was born to enhance the value of companies located in the Son Bugadelles industrial estate, following the philosophy of other reference places, such as the 22 @ district of Barcelona or the Miami Design District.<\/p>\n

The interest of foreign investors in the island’s new real estate developments has not stopped growing in recent years, both for renovations and for new construction.<\/p>\n

The objective of Son Bugadelles is to become an attractive shopping place and it also plans to hold events in the future to promote the art, design and creativity of the district.<\/p>\n

In Mu\u00f1oz’s words, \u201cwith this close public-private collaboration, Calvi\u00e0 has the opportunity to be at the forefront of Balearic design and lifestyle in the short term and later at the European level, diversifying the municipality’s market and not focusing only on the sightseeing”.<\/p>\n

Among the current partners of MADD, there are renowned firms based on the island, such as Terraza Balear, Dur\u00e1n, Alibaz, Mallorca Site, Knox, Grupo Ferr\u00e1, Edificam, Instyle Living, CSV, Eccowin, Almacenes Ferragut, Engel & V\u00f6lkers, Maxim Confort, Digital Cinema, Wine & More, Grupo Trato, Domus Vivendi, Senso, Yes we bike, Highland Gold, Bbs-it, Descanshop, Absolut Descanshop, Palerm, Lions Gate Capital, Gallery Red and Jardins de Tramuntana.<\/p>\n
