At the beginning of the World Travel Market that takes place in London until November 3, the president of the Government, Francina Armengol, trusted that the Balearic Islands will recover British tourism prior to the pandemic in 2022.<\/p>\n
Armengol has also indicated that this year spending per tourist has grown by 7.2% compared to 2019. “We are stimulating higher quality tourism in broad terms and therefore much more aware of our territorial reality and our environmental fragility” , said the president, to also emphasize that “we have to continue with this line of work to eliminate excess tourism and make it much more compatible with our social reality.”<\/p>\n
The president has expressed her gratitude to the workers of the sector for her efforts, since they “have given everything during these very difficult months” and she has said that thanks to them the season has exceeded expectations. She has also shown her gratitude to the businessmen and women who have made the Balearic Islands a leading destination.<\/p>\n
For her part, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Mar\u00eda Reyes Maroto, has visited the Balearic stand and has affirmed that the islands lead the tourist recovery and that they are the autonomous community that has grown the most in British tourism. In addition, she added that the prospects for the coming months are good.<\/p>\n
In a situation marked by the uncertainty generated by the pandemic, the second most important tourist market for the islands this year is behaving better than with the rest of the autonomous communities, since the Balearic Islands are managing to attract 4 out of 10 tourists from the United Kingdom arriving in Spain. All this thanks to the competitive advantage of being the first Spanish region to be green at the travel traffic light in the British country.<\/p>\n
The Balearic Islands stand at the WTM measures about 450 square meters and is attended by the four island councils. Eight municipalities from Mallorca (Alc\u00fadia, Calvi\u00e0, Felanitx, Manacor, Palma, Pollen\u00e7a, Sant Lloren\u00e7 des Cardassar and Santany\u00ed) and three private exhibitors also participate: Iberostar Hotels, Viajes Sidetours and Adramar Incoming Service.<\/p>\n
