CaixaForum Palma presents the exhibition “Non finito. The art of the unfinished”, by the National Museum of Sculpture, a centennial reference that disseminates the most significant collection of Spanish sculpture. The exhibition explores works of art from all eras that, for different reasons, have remained unfinished, have been interrupted or have been intentionally conceived as fragments.<\/p>\n
The exhibition, which includes 85 works from more than 40 museums and collections, underlines the constant predilection of artists throughout history for fragmentary forms. Six categories of unfinished art are proposed: the charm of beginnings, abbreviations in search of expressive richness, the imagination of disaster, metamorphosis, erosion and the aspiration of the infinite. The exhibition, which opens at CaixaForum Palma, will later travel to the National Sculpture Museum of Valladolid and CaixaForum Zaragoza.<\/p>\n
The tour brings together pieces by Joseph Beuys, David Hockney, Antonio L\u00f3pez, El Greco, Dora Maar, Max Ernst, Rembrandt van Rijn, Marcel Duchamp, Marc Chagall, Federico Fellini, Eduardo Chillida, Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, Brassa\u00ef, Eugenio Lucas, Joaqu\u00edn Sorolla, Ignasi Aball\u00ed, Alonso Berruguete, Joan Mir\u00f3, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Francisco Salzillo, Andreas Gursky, Buster Keaton, Georges Perec and William Kentridge, among others.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
