\"JOSEIf the relentless expansion\u00a0of Sars-CoV-2 is teaching us\u00a0anything, it is to realize about\u00a0our vulnerability, as individuals\u00a0and as a supposedly leading\u00a0human group of all species. About\u00a0our social impotence to overcome\u00a0it in a reasonable time with minimal\u00a0mortality. Realize the lack of commitment\u00a0of citizens, that we strive to\u00a0prevent the contagion curve from\u00a0falling. And about the incompetence\u00a0of those politicians and minor\u00a0politicians who believe that they\u00a0will make a career forcing clashes\u00a0without foundation in the great race\u00a0of mediocrity of these times, while\u00a0the mortality and morbidity curves\u00a0continue to rise for history.<\/p>\n

The reality is that we are experiencing\u00a0the first pandemic with a\u00a0global consciousness. Its universality\u00a0aggravates the problem because it\u00a0does not allow the option to escape.\u00a0Caught on the virus planet, it is just\u00a0not possible. This is perhaps one of\u00a0the most disturbing sensations of\u00a0what we are experiencing, caused\u00a0by the possibility of \u2018random\u2019 death:\u00a0no one knows for sure why some\u00a0die and others do not. Not even why\u00a0some are contagious and not others.<\/p>\n

To try to form an opinion on the\u00a0reason for the cracks in the protective shield of ‘one of the best\u00a0health systems in the world’, at such\u00a0a crucial moment, and what should\u00a0be done to avoid such terrifying\u00a0‘tsunamis’ in a future, crippling and\u00a0frustrating like those of COVID-19,\u00a0we have tested the opinion, on the\u00a0one hand, of renowned scientists in\u00a0virology and public health\u00a0 management.\u00a0On the other hand, we have\u00a0looked for its possible repercussions,\u00a0in this continuous present and in the\u00a0future, speaking with experts in Psychology,\u00a0Architecture, Sociology, Human\u00a0Geography and Economics. An\u00a0examination at a certain time in late\u00a0November that offers us a polyhedral\u00a0drawing of other social consequences\u00a0other than the health related.<\/p>\n

In the first part of this report, the\u00a0experts point out that some of the\u00a0cracks in our public health system\u00a0are due to the lack of budget during\u00a0the time of the wrong saving-cooling\u00a0policies that were taken in Spain\u00a0and Europe -unlike the US- from the\u00a0crisis of 2008, stealing with them\u00a0the funds necessary for health and\u00a0research, among other fundamental\u00a0areas of the public system. Fortunately\u00a0on this occasion that serious\u00a0error is corrected and, now, Europe\u00a0places all its confidence in a gigantic\u00a0recovery fund (750,000 million of\u00a0which will reach Spain 140,000) that\u00a0should begin to be distributed as\u00a0soon as possible, despite the slow\u00a0and stilted European administration\u00a0and the paralysis caused by countries\u00a0with great democratic gaps\u00a0due to the fact that they demand the\u00a0recognition that democracy, in addition\u00a0to being so, must appear so. If\u00a0this situation is prolonged, the states\u00a0should temporarily replace (in the\u00a0first half of the plan, 2021-2023) the\u00a0European aid with their own funds,\u00a0at the risk that the most ominous\u00a0forecasts are fulfilled by dragging\u00a0their lives and estates.<\/p>\n

At the editorial deadline, hopes are\u00a0placed on an effective and efficient\u00a0vaccination -also torpedoed by another\u00a0group of doomsayers without\u00a0much future- and on the\u00a0 recovery of\u00a0the economic pulse through discrimination,\u00a0via lockdowns, of the areas\u00a0where the requirements are not met\u00a0protection, and the arrival of the\u00a0aforementioned European funds. The\u00a0fact that the first person to be vaccinated\u00a0was a woman from the United\u00a0Kingdom can predict a smooth start\u00a0to the imminent reactivation of the\u00a0main source markets of our\u00a0 islands,\u00a0such as the United Kingdom and\u00a0Germany, among others.<\/p>\n

It is indisputable that the light\u00a0begins to be felt at the end of the\u00a0tunnel. Let’s see if with all this, 2021\u00a0offers us a less tense outlook, less\u00a0civil warfare, more encouraging and\u00a0with palpable and close good news.\u00a0Happy Holidays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
