From the 11th to the 26th of January the festival of the patron saint of Palma is celebrated with an infinity of interesting plans. \u00a0<\/strong>The celebrations began with the proclamation of Fernando Estrella in the Plaza de Cort and will conclude with a spectacular correfoc, after more than two weeks full of brilliant proposals.<\/p>\n There are a multitude of activities during the Sant Sebasti\u00e0 festivities, including marches, exhibitions and sporting competitions in cycling, canoeing, paddle tennis and fencing. The programme includes the Photographic Marathon, for which registration is free. For their part, the city’s museums, such as Can Balaguer, es Baluard, Casal Solleric have open days and guided tours. Within the Sant Sebasti\u00e0 festivities there are ideas especially designed for children, such as storytelling or the parade of giants and big-heads.<\/p>\n Without a doubt, the biggest hustle and bustle will come on the night of 19th January, the eve of Sant Sebasti\u00e0. \u00a0Then there will be revetlles with lively concerts in the squares of Palma. Each of them has chosen a musical style, jazz, rock, flamenco or pop to light up the night of the foguerons.<\/p>\n The correfoc on the 26th of January will close the Sant Sebasti\u00e0 festivities in Palma. Along with the Drac de na Coca, a work by the artist Kake Portas in memory of the crocodile that terrorised the city, more fire throwing “monsters” and a multitude of dimonis will parade, animated by the powerful drums of the batucadas, amidst kilos of firecrackers and all kinds of pyrotechnic material.<\/p>\n Mallorca Caprice wishes you a happy Sant Sebasti\u00e0, full of fantastic plans for all ages.<\/p>\n By:Marina del Olmo<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
