Photo: PP Balears.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The agreement, reached at national level, aims to prevent the vote from being split between the two parties in the Senate election. PP Balears has presented it as a measure intended to help secure a parliamentary majority that would allow a change of government in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement also means that <strong>Marina Fiscaletti<\/strong> will withdraw from second place on the PP&#8217;s Senate list for Mallorca. She will be replaced by <strong>Bel\u00e9n Bordils<\/strong>, nominated by Vox, who will stand as an independent on the PP list.<\/p>\n<h2>PP Balears candidates for Congress and the Senate<\/h2>\n<p>The agreement coincides with the presentation of PP Balears&#8217; candidates for the 29 November general election.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jos\u00e9 Vicente Mar\u00ed Bos\u00f3<\/strong>, president of the PP in Eivissa, heads the list for the Congress of Deputies. He is followed, in order, by <strong>Ant\u00f2nia Roca<\/strong>, First Vice-President of the Consell de Mallorca; <strong>Joan Mesquida<\/strong>, a member of Congress; <strong>Xisca Porquer<\/strong>, mayor of Campos; and <strong>Jacobo Varela de Lima<\/strong>, a member of the Balearic Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>For the Senate, <strong>Sebasti\u00e0 Sagreras<\/strong> heads the list for Mallorca, followed by <strong>Bel\u00e9n Bordils<\/strong>, while <strong>Catalina Cirer<\/strong>, former mayor of Palma, is listed as a substitute candidate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ram\u00f3n Sintes<\/strong> is standing for Menorca and <strong>Carmen Ferrer<\/strong> for Eivissa. In Formentera, the PP is backing the candidacy of the <strong>Sa Uni\u00f3<\/strong> coalition, headed by <strong>Vicent Tur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Mar\u00ed Bos\u00f3 calls for improvements in funding and infrastructure<\/h2>\n<p>During the presentation of the candidates, Mar\u00ed Bos\u00f3 argued for the need for political change in Spain and identified regional funding, infrastructure, central government public services and irregular immigration among his priorities.<\/p>\n<p>The lead candidate for Congress called for an extension of the Balearic Islands&#8217; special tax regime, which expires in 2028, as well as the signing of road funding agreements with the island councils and an increase in staffing levels in central government public services.<\/p>\n<p>He also advocated measures to tackle irregular immigration and human trafficking networks in the Mediterranean. &#8220;We need a government that knows how to manage public anger and turn it into hope,&#8221;
