The Consell de Mallorca plans to begin construction of the new Campos roundabout in late 2026<\/strong>, at the exit from the town towards Santany\u00ed and Col\u00f2nia de Sant Jordi. The project has a budget of \u20ac1.6 million<\/strong> and aims to improve road safety and reduce congestion at a junction used by up to 25,000 vehicles a day during the summer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The island authority has already put the works out to tender, with bids accepted until 2 November<\/strong>. The project will affect the junction between the Ma-19 towards Santany\u00ed and the Ma-6040 towards Col\u00f2nia de Sant Jordi<\/strong>, one of the most problematic points on the road network in this part of Mallorca.<\/p>\n

The new infrastructure will replace the existing roundabout, which has safety and capacity problems due to increasing traffic volumes, particularly during the tourist season.<\/p>\n

What work will be carried out on the Campos roundabout?<\/h2>\n

The project involves removing the existing roundabout<\/strong> and building a new one a few metres further along the road. With this change, the Consell de Mallorca aims to improve the junction layout and reduce the risk of accidents.<\/p>\n
