C\u00f2micNostrum 2026, Mallorca’s International Comic Festival<\/strong>, takes place from 14 to 18 October in Palma and Inca<\/strong>, with exhibitions, meetings with authors, children’s workshops, signing sessions, film screenings and a cosplay competition. One of the main highlights is the exhibition Vinyeta \u00e9s una paraula femenina (Panel Is a Feminine Word)<\/strong>, which opens on 15 October at Casal Solleric in Palma<\/strong> and explores seven decades of comics created by women in Spain.<\/p>\n For the second consecutive year, Palma and Inca town councils are collaborating with the Cl\u00faster de C\u00f2mic i Nous Media (Comic and New Media Cluster)<\/strong> to organise the festival. The programme includes exhibitions in both municipalities, while F\u00e0brica Ramis in Inca<\/strong> becomes the main meeting point over the weekend<\/strong>, hosting the Pop Up C\u00f2mic Market<\/strong>, presentations and signing sessions with authors including Craig Thompson<\/strong>, Ana Miralles<\/strong>, Anne Simon<\/strong>, Candela Sierra<\/strong> and Marika Vila<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In addition, pla\u00e7a de la Llibertat in Inca<\/strong> hosts El laberinto del cuco (The Cuckoo’s Labyrinth)<\/strong>, an interactive installation by Max<\/strong> and Itiner\u00e0nia<\/strong> that allows visitors to explore a large-scale comic. This is one of several activities open to the public, alongside a screening of Persepolis<\/em><\/strong>, children’s workshops<\/strong> and the cosplay<\/em> competition<\/strong> on Sunday 18 October.<\/p>\n Casal Solleric<\/strong> hosts an exhibition dedicated to more than seven decades of comics created by women in Spain. Curated by Jaume Vaquer, it includes works by more than fifty female artists, among them Purita Campos, Marika Vila, Ana Miralles, Mariel Soria and Margalida Vinyes.<\/p>\n The magazine El V\u00edbora<\/em>, a leading publication in Spain’s underground comic scene, is the subject of an exhibition entitled El V\u00edbora, contracultura en vena (El V\u00edbora, Counterculture in the Veins), which looks back at its 25-year history and its influence on several generations of comic artists.<\/p>\n Ten footwear companies from the Raiguer area and ten illustrators have collaborated on an exhibition entitled La sabata dibuixada (The Illustrated Shoe), bringing together two traditional crafts. The result is a collection of shoes whose leather components feature illustrated comic strips.<\/p>\n The C\u00f2micNostrum 2026 programme includes several other exhibitions open to the public:<\/p>\n One of the festival’s most original activities is El laberinto del cuco, a participatory installation created by Max and the company Itiner\u00e0nia.<\/p>\n Part of the El laberinto del cuco installation. Visitors walk through its corridors and discover a story that changes depending on the route they choose.<\/p>\n The festival also includes a screening of Persepolis<\/em>, the animated film directed by Marjane Satrapi<\/strong> and based on her autobiographical graphic novel.<\/p>\n The screening will be followed by an introduction and discussion led by Juan Antonio Montes de Oca and Francisco S\u00e1nchez.<\/p>\n F\u00e0brica Ramis in Inca<\/strong>, at Gran Via de Colom, 28, will host the main weekend activities. Key times include:<\/p>\n The market continues on Sunday from 9:30 to 14:00<\/strong> at F\u00e0brica Ramis, with meetings, family workshops and a cosplay competition.<\/p>\n Main activities include:<\/p>\n The cosplay competition is dedicated to characters from comics, manga and anime<\/strong> and features two categories: junior, for children under 14, and adult.<\/p>\n It takes place on Sunday 18 October at 12:30<\/strong> at F\u00e0brica Ramis. Registration is in person on the day, from 11:30 to 12:20<\/strong>.
