The expansion is scheduled for <strong>1 January 2027<\/strong> and will affect streets in eight neighbourhoods across the city.<\/p>\n<p>Not every street in these neighbourhoods will become part of the regulated parking system. Palma City Council therefore recommends <strong>checking the exact home address first<\/strong> before starting any application.<\/p>\n<h2>Which neighbourhoods will have new ORA zones in Palma?<\/h2>\n<p>The new ORA zones in Palma will be extended to certain streets in the following neighbourhoods:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Foners<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pere Garau Est<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Son Fortesa Sud<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Els Hostalets<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Son Oliva<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pla\u00e7a de Toros<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Camp Red\u00f3<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bons Aires<\/strong>, on certain streets only<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The inclusion of a neighbourhood in the expansion does not mean that all of its streets will have regulated parking.<\/p>\n<h2>How can I find out if my street is included?<\/h2>\n<p>Palma City Council has launched an <strong>address search tool<\/strong> to check the ORA zones in Palma and find out whether a specific address is included in the expansion.<\/p>\n<p>Residents can check their address using the search tool provided by Mobilitat:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/residentsora.palma.cat\/mobilitatfront\/public\/ora\/\">[https:\/\/residentsora.palma.cat\/mobilitatfront\/public\/ora\/](https:\/\/residentsora.palma.cat\/mobilitatfront\/public\/ora\/)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Only residents of streets included in the new zones will need to apply for the new permit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>When can residents apply for an ORA permit?<\/h2>\n<p>Applications open on <strong>Wednesday 16 September 2026<\/strong>. The new zones are expected to come into operation on <strong>1 January 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Palma City Council may adjust this timetable depending on how the processing of the new permits progresses.<\/p>\n<h2>How to apply for an ORA permit in Palma<\/h2>\n<p>The ORA resident permit will be <strong>entirely virtual<\/strong>. This means there will be no need to display a sticker on the vehicle: checks will be carried out automatically using the number plate.<\/p>\n<p>There will be two ways to apply for an ORA permit in Palma:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Online<\/strong>, through mobipalma.mobi.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In person<\/strong>, at SMAP offices by appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SMAP plans to increase its customer service capacity during the application period. If necessary, the service may be reinforced with <strong>up to 20 additional staff<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>What are the requirements and what documents are needed?<\/h2>\n<p>To obtain the permit, applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be <strong>registered as a resident in the corresponding area<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Be up to date with <strong>municipal tax payments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Have a <strong>valid DNI, NIE or passport<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Provide the vehicle&#8217;s <strong>registration certificate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Have a <strong>valid driving licence<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How much does the permit cost?<\/h2>\n<p>The resident permit costs <strong>\u20ac24 per year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Payment can be made by <strong>bank card<\/strong> or using a <strong>payment notice issued by Palma City Council<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>What if I already have an ORA permit?<\/h2>\n<p>Residents who already have a permit for the existing ORA zone in Palma <strong>do not need to take any action at this stage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Their permits will be renewed through the usual annual procedure, scheduled for <strong>November<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The expansion will, however, involve the reorganisation of some sectors. As a result, the <strong>assigned sector number may change<\/strong> for some residents. Palma City Council recommends checking the address using its search tool to find out which sector will correspond to each home.<\/p>\n<p>People living on streets that are not included in the expansion will not need to take any action either.<\/p>\n<h2>What about non-resident drivers?<\/h2>\n<p>Drivers who do not live on the streets included in the new zones will still be able to park there under the usual ORA rules.<\/p>\n<p>Payment must be made using the <strong>mobiAPParc<\/strong> app or at the <strong>parking meters<\/strong> installed on the street.<\/p>\n<p>The expansion aims to increase vehicle turnover and improve parking availability for residents, businesses, errands and visitors.
