The increase was <strong>far greater than the rise in tourist arrivals<\/strong>, which grew by just <strong>0.22%<\/strong> during the month (more information at <a href=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/en\/turistas-balears-julio-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this link<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-150450 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Gasto-turistico.webp\" alt=\"tourist spending in the Balearic Islands\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Average spending<\/strong> stood at <strong>\u20ac1,487.33 per tourist<\/strong>, up <strong>7.75%<\/strong>. <strong>Daily spending<\/strong> also increased, reaching <strong>\u20ac239.81 per person<\/strong>, a year-on-year rise of <strong>6.48%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The figures come from the EGATUR statistics compiled by IBESTAT in collaboration with INE and are provisional.<\/p>\n<h2>Tourist spending in Mallorca exceeds \u20ac3 billion<\/h2>\n<p>Mallorca accounted for 66.83% of all tourist spending in the islands during July. Eivissa-Formentera represented 23.24% and Menorca 9.93%.<\/p>\n<p>The figures by island were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mallorca:<\/strong> \u20ac3.05 billion, up 8.97%.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eivissa-Formentera:<\/strong> \u20ac1.06 billion, up 6.43%.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Menorca:<\/strong> \u20ac452.90 million, up 5.17%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Average spending per tourist also varied between the islands. In Mallorca, it reached <strong>\u20ac1,536.36<\/strong>, compared with \u20ac1,489.75 in Eivissa-Formentera and \u20ac1,220.62 in Menorca.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Piti\u00fcses (Pityusic Islands)<\/strong>, however, recorded the highest <strong>daily spending<\/strong>, at <strong>\u20ac271.36 per tourist<\/strong>. Mallorca recorded \u20ac236.94 and Menorca \u20ac201.47.<\/p>\n<h2>Germany and the UK, the leading markets<\/h2>\n<p>International tourists generated <strong>90.90% of tourist spending in the Balearic Islands in July<\/strong>. By individual market, Germany accounted for 18.68% of the total and the United Kingdom for 18.43%.<\/p>\n<p>German tourists spent <strong>\u20ac851.82 million<\/strong>, 5% more than a year earlier. The UK market generated \u20ac840.30 million, an increase of 5.51%.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of how the money was spent, 21.30% went on accommodation and 20.43% on transport. Food and drink accounted for 15.09%, activities for 10.07% and shopping for 3.27%. Package holidays accounted for 27.29% of total spending.<\/p>\n<h2>Tourist spending in the Balearic Islands exceeds \u20ac13.7 billion by July<\/h2>\n<p>Between <strong>January and July<\/strong>, tourist spending in the Balearic Islands totalled <strong>\u20ac13.70 billion<\/strong>, <strong>5.65% more<\/strong> than in the same period of 2025. International visitors contributed \u20ac12.30 billion, while visitors from other Spanish autonomous communities spent \u20ac1.40 billion.<\/p>\n<p>By island, Mallorca accumulated \u20ac10.01 billion in tourist spending, up 5.23%. Eivissa-Formentera reached \u20ac2.59 billion, an increase of 7.57%.
