The Nit de l’Art 2026<\/strong><\/a> (Art Night) will take place on Saturday, 19 September<\/strong>, with more than 50 exhibitions and over 100 participating artists. Mallorca’s major contemporary art event<\/strong> celebrates its 30th anniversary<\/strong> with a programme running from 18:00 to 23:00<\/strong> across galleries, museums and other cultural venues in Palma and other municipalities on the island.<\/p>\n

Organised by Art Palma Contemporani (APC)<\/strong><\/a>, the event marks three decades since it was first launched in 1997. Over the years, Nit de l’Art has become the major event opening Mallorca’s exhibition season, bringing together artists, gallery owners, collectors, curators and the public around new developments in contemporary art.<\/p>\n

The programme includes exhibitions, cultural events, concerts, meetings and free guided tours in several languages<\/strong>. International professionals linked to the art world and art market are also expected to take part.<\/p>\n

Nit de l’Art 2026 unveils new image for its 30th anniversary<\/h2>\n

One of the main new features will be a revamped visual identity for Nit de l’Art. After several years featuring a design by Studio Roses, the organisation has commissioned Mallorca-based studios HONDO and HASTALASTANTAS<\/strong> to create the new image.<\/p>\n

The anniversary edition also sees a66 Gallery<\/strong> join Art Palma Contemporani. Founded in 2024 by Anja Maria Wolf, the gallery is located in a historic townhouse in the centre of Santany\u00ed and focuses on bringing artworks and their creators closer to the public.<\/p>\n

With this addition, Art Palma Contemporani now comprises 16 galleries<\/strong>. These include ABA ART, BAR\u00d3, CCA Andratx, Galer\u00eda Fermay, Hauser & Wirth Menorca, LA BIBI, KEWENIG, Galer\u00eda Maior, Galer\u00eda Pelaires, Galeria Reus and Galer\u00eda Xavier Fiol<\/strong>, as well as other associated spaces.<\/p>\n

Museums, cultural centres and new partner venues<\/h2>\n

The event will once again extend beyond galleries. Institutional and partner venues announced for this year’s edition include Es Baluard Museu d’Art Contemporani de Palma, Casal Solleric, Can Balaguer, CaixaForum Palma, Fundaci\u00f3n Juan March, Fundaci\u00f3 Mir\u00f3 Mallorca, La Llotja and La Miseric\u00f2rdia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Other participants include the Museu de Pollen\u00e7a, ADEMA Escuela Universitaria, Espai Cor, COSTER Art i Natura, Nivia Born Boutique Hotel and Sant Francesc Hotel<\/strong>, among others. This year, iGallery and KANT Palma<\/strong> also join as partner galleries.<\/p>\n

Some of the projects have already been announced. At Fundaci\u00f3n Barcel\u00f3, ADEMA will present the group exhibition Confluencias (Confluences)<\/em>, featuring work by fourth-year Fine Arts students. Meanwhile, the courtyard of Sant Francesc Hotel will host Los sue\u00f1os del agua (Dreams of Water)<\/em>, an installation by Alejandro Corujeira<\/strong> developed in collaboration with Galer\u00eda Fermay.<\/p>\n

HM Hotels strengthens its ties with Nit de l’Art<\/h2>\n

Among the leading sponsors of Nit de l’Art is HM Hotels<\/strong><\/a>, a Mallorcan hotel group whose connection with art and culture forms part of the company’s identity. Its origins are linked to Galer\u00eda Horrach Moy\u00e0<\/strong>, and the group has an important collection of artworks displayed throughout its establishments, through which it aims to bring artistic creation closer to both guests and residents.<\/p>\n

This connection is also reflected in its collaboration with Art Palma Contemporani, which HM Hotels supports and provides with spaces for its activities. Through this partnership, the company reinforces its commitment to local culture and to initiatives that help bring contemporary art closer to the public and enrich Mallorca’s cultural life.<\/p>\n

An event born in Palma in 1997<\/h2>\n

The first edition dates back to September 1997<\/strong>, when gallery owners Pep Pinya and Xavier Fiol, through the Asociaci\u00f3n Independiente de Galer\u00edas de Arte de Baleares (AIGAB), organised a joint night-time opening of the galleries.<\/p>\n

According to Art Palma Contemporani, Palma was the first European city to hold an event of this kind<\/strong>. Three decades later, Nit de l’Art continues its mission of bringing contemporary art closer to the public and promoting Mallorca’s art sector beyond the island.<\/p>\n
