Can\u00e7ons de la Mediterr\u00e0nia 2026<\/strong> (Songs of the Mediterranean 2026<\/strong>) will once again turn Ses Voltes<\/strong> and Bellver Castle<\/strong> into leading venues for Mediterranean-rooted music. The festival will hold its 42nd edition<\/strong> from 12 to 19 July<\/strong> with a programme of six concerts<\/strong> featuring artists from the Balearic Islands<\/strong>, the Iberian Peninsula<\/strong> and Italy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Traditional music, poetry and Mediterranean sounds<\/h2>\n

The festival, which was first held in 1984<\/strong>, continues its commitment to Mediterranean-inspired music with a programme combining tradition, new artistic proposals and international performers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The opening concert will be given by M\u00fasica Nostra<\/strong> on Sunday 12 July<\/strong> at Ses Voltes<\/strong>. One of the Balearic Islands’ leading traditional and folk music groups will present Cam\u00ed Florit<\/em><\/strong>, an album featuring original compositions based on poems by Catalan-language writers<\/strong>, with collaborations from Eliseo Parra, Rodrigo Cuevas, Tiu, Es Revetllers, Pere Mas and Na Stella<\/strong>. Admission will be free<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Two days later, Bellver Castle<\/strong> will host Debon canta Suau<\/em><\/strong>, a performance bringing together poetry and music<\/strong> through the poems of Pere Suau<\/strong>. The production features original music<\/strong> by pianist Antoni Bujosa<\/strong> and the voice of Pau Debon<\/strong>, lead singer of Ant\u00f2nia Font.<\/p>\n

The programme continues on 16 July<\/strong> with Hato Gat\u00f3 & amics<\/strong> at Ses Voltes<\/strong>. The ensemble, made up of 15 musicians under the direction of Jose Llorach<\/strong>, has established itself as a leading force in the reinterpretation of traditional music from the Iberian Peninsula and other folk repertoires<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One of the festival’s most eagerly awaited concerts takes place on 17 July<\/strong> at Bellver Castle<\/strong>, when Francisco<\/strong> performs alongside the Palma Municipal Band<\/strong>. The concert coincides with the band’s 60th anniversary<\/strong> and will be the only performance to begin at 9.00 pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On 18 July<\/strong>, Italian singer Maria Mazzotta<\/strong> will present Onde<\/em><\/strong>, the album that earned her the Loano National Prize for Traditional Italian Music<\/strong>. The festival will close on 19 July<\/strong> with Tumar\u00ed<\/em><\/strong>, a performance by L’Arann\u00e0<\/strong> blending the traditional music of Ibiza and Formentera with electronic sounds and traditional instruments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
