The Gran Premi Nacional de Trot 2026 (National Trotting Grand Prix 2026)<\/strong> will take place next Sunday, 17 May<\/strong> at Son Pardo Racecourse<\/strong>, in Palma, with a day combining competition, institutional events and activities for all audiences<\/strong>. The main race<\/strong> will start at 18:00<\/strong> and this year\u2019s edition will feature a major new addition: a new permanent institutional trophy<\/strong> promoted by the Consell de Mallorca<\/strong>, the Institut de l\u2019Esport H\u00edpic de Mallorca<\/strong> (IEHM) and the Federaci\u00f3 Balear de Trot<\/strong> (FBT).<\/p>\n

A new institutional trophy for the National Trotting Grand Prix 2026<\/h2>\n

The new commemorative piece, created by sculptor Anatoliy Neznamov<\/strong>, will remain on permanent display at Son Pardo as a symbol of the historical legacy<\/strong> of one of the most important competitions in Balearic and national trotting.<\/p>\n

The trophy will incorporate metal plaques featuring the names of all winners of the National Trotting Grand Prix 2026 and future editions, including the driver<\/strong>, the winning horse<\/strong> and the year of victory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to this institutional sculpture, each edition will continue to include an individual trophy for the winning horse<\/strong>, while the main piece will be updated annually to preserve the historical record of the competition.<\/p>\n

Programme and events of the National Trotting Grand Prix 2026<\/h2>\n

The programme will include exhibitions, activities and races throughout the weekend<\/strong> at the Son Pardo venue.<\/p>\n

Sunday will host the main institutional and sporting events, including the arrival of authorities, the participants\u2019 parade and musical entertainment with a brass band before the main race.<\/p>\n

One of the most notable moments will take place at around 17:35<\/strong>, when a horse-drawn carriage will transport the trophies to the institutional area<\/strong> set up in front of the grandstand fountain for public display.<\/p>\n

Prize-giving ceremony and celebrations at Son Pardo<\/h2>\n

After the National Trotting Grand Prix 2026, the prize-giving ceremony for the owners, driver, trainer and breeder of the winning horse<\/strong> will take place.<\/p>\n

The event will conclude with the placement of the commemorative blanket on the winning horse<\/strong> and access to the track for relatives and supporters to celebrate the victory alongside the winning team, in an atmosphere accompanied by live brass band music.<\/p>\n
