The expansion of the ORA in Palma<\/strong> is moving forward following the unanimous approval of the Monitoring Committee for the On-Street Regulated Parking Service. The proposal will extend regulated parking to neighbourhoods in Palma\u2019s Eixample<\/strong> located in the third ring of the city<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Specifically, the expansion of the ORA in Palma will affect Foners, Pere Garau, Pla\u00e7a de Toros, Bons Aires, Camp Red\u00f3, Es Fort\u00ed-Serralta and Santa Catalina Nord<\/strong>. These will be joined by Son Oliva and Son Fortesa Sud<\/strong>, whose inclusion was not initially envisaged in the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS), but was subsequently approved by the municipal plenary session.<\/p>\n

\"ORA<\/p>\n

The proposal has been defined on the basis of a technical analysis<\/strong> that has taken into account factors such as the level of parking occupancy, the availability of public transport and traffic flows<\/strong>. The aim is to improve vehicle turnover and optimise the use of public space in areas with high demand, according to a statement issued by the City Council.<\/p>\n

More regulated spaces and new parking meters<\/h2>\n

The expansion of the ORA in Palma will significantly increase the number of regulated parking spaces, which will rise from around 12,000 to more than 25,900 across the city<\/strong>. Likewise, the number of ticket machines will increase from 404 to 570, with the installation of 166 new parking meters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Before it comes into operation, a range of administrative procedures and preliminary works will need to be completed, such as the signage and marking of the new spaces, as well as civil works. This will include foundation and anchoring works for the new equipment.<\/p>\n

The rollout of the service will take place progressively<\/strong>, combining these interventions with the installation and commissioning of the ticket machines.<\/p>\n

Investment of 1.36 million euros in the expansion of the ORA in Palma<\/h3>\n

The expansion of the ORA in Palma will involve an approximate investment of 1.36 million euros<\/strong>, included in SMAP\u2019s 2026 budget. This funding will be allocated mainly to the acquisition and installation of the new ticket machines, as well as control systems, management software and other resources needed to ensure the proper operation of the service.<\/p>\n

The approval of this proposal marks the prior step needed to begin the works that will allow the ORA to be extended to new areas of Palma and strengthen the city\u2019s urban mobility model.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
