The Paco de Luc\u00eda Mallorca Festival 2026<\/strong> Palma Flamenca<\/strong> will celebrate its fifth edition with a programme that will once again place the city on the map of contemporary flamenco. The festival will begin on 13 March at Teatre Principal de Palma<\/strong> with a grand gala headlined by Mar\u00eda Terremoto<\/strong> and Mala Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, and will also feature performances by La Tania<\/strong>, Mercedes Luj\u00e1n<\/strong> and Rancapino Chico<\/strong> at venues such as Es Gremi<\/strong>, Es Baluard Museu d\u2019Art Contemporani de Palma<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3 Mir\u00f3 Mallorca<\/strong> and Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One of the main new developments of this edition is that Her Majesty Queen Letizia has accepted the Honorary Presidency of the festival<\/strong>, an institutional endorsement that reinforces the profile of an event already firmly established in Mallorca\u2019s cultural calendar.<\/p>\n

Alicia Gibert, central figure in the III Young Talents Grant<\/h2>\n

Another of the standout events of this edition will be the performance by Alicia Gibert<\/strong> on 17 March at Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza<\/strong>. The Mallorcan dancer is the recipient of the III Young Talents Grant of the Paco de Luc\u00eda Festival<\/strong>, which in this fifth anniversary edition<\/strong> has been exceptionally devoted to the field of dance from a contemporary and cross-disciplinary perspective<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The grant was awarded following the deliberation of the festival\u2019s international selection committee, made up of prominent figures from the musical and artistic world such as Bryan Adams, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and Estrella Morente<\/strong>, together with other professionals linked to the promotion of new talent.<\/p>\n

In addition to these first events, the programme will continue throughout the year with new cultural proposals, including concerts by Queralt Lahoz<\/strong> -and other artists yet to be confirmed- in October and a special Christmas gala with Las Migas<\/strong>, which will be announced soon.<\/p>\n

A festival with a social dimension dedicated to the legacy of Paco de Luc\u00eda<\/h3>\n

The Paco de Luc\u00eda Mallorca Festival was created in 2022 by Soledad Besc\u00f3s<\/strong> with the aim of preserving and sharing the musical and human legacy of the guitarist. Promoted by the Paco de Luc\u00eda Foundation<\/strong>, the festival also has a charitable character<\/strong>, as the funds raised are allocated to educational programmes that promote musical training and the development of young talent.<\/p>\n

The festival pays tribute to Francisco Gustavo S\u00e1nchez G\u00f3mez<\/strong>, Paco de Luc\u00eda\u2019s real name, who spent the final years of his life in Mallorca. On the island, he found the calm and inspiration he needed to work and composed one of his most celebrated works, Canci\u00f3n andaluza<\/strong><\/em>, an album that received a posthumous Latin Grammy in 2014<\/strong>, the same year he died. That same year, the Consell de Mallorca<\/strong> named him an adopted son of the island<\/strong>, thereby recognising his close bond with Mallorca.<\/p>\n

The festival is supported by the Ajuntament de Palma<\/strong>, the Consell de Mallorca<\/strong> and a network of cultural partners including Galer\u00eda Pelaires, Es Gremi, Es Baluard \u2013 Museu d\u2019Art Contemporani de Palma<\/strong> and the Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
